training

I have worked with individuals from a variety of backgrounds (actors, researchers, directors, fellow educators, economic masterminds and tree surgeons!) on a variety of subjects, and those connections and shared learning opportunities are what pushed me to finally train as a coach (for more on that, see Jo The Coach.) Now, my trainings tend to centre around confidence building, preparation for specific exams or for the job market, and presentation delivery.
When I engage in confidence-building work with students, we repair, develop and reinforce the grammatical and lexical bases, practising in safe environments and immersion in the target language, with an encouraging and non-judgemental approach. I work with students wanting to gain knowledge and experience in the target language (English or French), at a rhythm that suits their goals, needs, budget and learning style. I’m a CELTA-qualified native English speaker with a near-native level in French, offering confidence-boosting tutoring and training in both languages.
I also offer CV (resume) and covering letter (cover letter) correction, editing and translating services and workshops, as well as interview preparation (in English and French). I have extensive experience training adult students in their job search, significantly boosting their chances at being successful in applying to work in a foreign language (English or French) or country.
After suffering through a million mediocre presentations from both students and colleagues, I have found great pleasure in helping people to prepare presentations and pitches, giving more accuracy, fluency, energy, and enthusiasm. No longer will your audience have to sit through hesitations and ramblings, repetitions and useless information. Working together or remotely, we can make your slides, delivery, and your audience pop!
